What is PHANTOM Glide?
PHANTOM Glide is a base treatment for alpine skis, Nordic skis and snowboards. It’s eco-friendly, consistent, long-lasting, and easy to maintain. Unlike traditional wax, PHANTOM bonds to the base and doesn’t wear off, eliminating the need and complexity of regular waxing. It contains no PFAS or fluorocarbons and is safe for you, and the environment.
How does it work?
PHANTOM Glide bonds to the base of your skis or snowboard using a UV-activated curing process. Here's how it works:
- Application: PHANTOM Glide is applied to the base of your skis or snowboard in a liquid form. This allows it to bond to the base material, ensuring continued performance.
2. UV Activation: After application, the treatment is exposed to UV light, either using a PHANTOM Glide Curing Station (20 minutes) or natural sunlight (1 hour in direct, unobstructed sunlight, >7C / 45F / UV index of 4 or higher). This UV exposure activates the bonding process, causing the treatment to fuse with the base material.
3. Long-Lasting Bond: Once activated, PHANTOM Glide bonds with the base of your skis or snowboard. This bond is durable and resilient, meaning it won’t wear off like traditional wax.
4. Enhanced Performance: The result is a base that offers superior glide performance across virtually all snow conditions without the need for regular reapplication. The treatment is designed to work in a wide range of temperatures and snow types, providing consistent, smooth rides.
